A man working in a Chennai supermarket and department store was beaten up brutally for trying to stop a policewoman from stealing from the store. The incident took place in Chennai’s Chetpet area on Wednesday, July 25th.
Pranav, the supermarket employee, noticed that a women police constable in the store was picking up items off the rack and shoving them in her pocket while she was on the mobile phone.
He then asked the policewoman to return the stolen goods and even asked her to write an apology note. Reported on India Today.
The incident, however, did not end there.
In a shocking turn of events, the policewoman’s husband, along with a few others gunda’s, stormed into the store and attacked the supermarket employee who tried to resist the shoplifting.
Pranav was rescued and taken to the hospital to treat his injuries.
The incident has caused much embarrassment to the Chennai police. The incident is being looked into and will take necessary action against the shoplifter, police said.
The policewoman robbery video is viral on the social media and the criminal act from the policewomen embarrassed the Chennai police authorities.
