The raid took place on Thursday at midnight and had initially opposed the CPM party workers who were present there. The criminals had managed to move out before the police reach the party office.
Deputy Commissioner in-charge Chaithra Teresa John raided the CPM district committee office at Mettukkada in Thiruvananthapuram based on a tip-off that one police station attackers were hiding there.
Police had charged a POCSO case and arrested two party workers for attempting rape on a minor girl on Wednesday; afterward, nine party workers attacked the medical college police station.
Later, they relented, and the police entered the office. However, they could not find the accused there. There are reports that the chief minister directly sought details about the search from the officer.
It’s learned that CPM district leadership has conveyed the party higher-ups their displeasure over the office raid. The matter had also given to the Chief Minister’s Office, who directed the Commissioner to look into the issue.
Later a genuine police source said that she has removed from the current position based on the chief minister’s office instruction.
