Kochi Music Foundation organised a film celebrity show ‘Karuna’ to raise funds for flood relief, on November 1, 2019, but still, the Foundation is yet to deposit the money was collected. According to a new document recently released by the RTI, indicate any amount had not credited to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund from, Kochi Music Foundation as promised.
However, a TOI report brought about a letter received for a Right To Information query, says that so far no fund from the show has been credited to the CMDRF.
Kochi Music Foundation was formed and managed by a group of friends including musicians and filmmakers. To organise “Karuna”, a music event that is supposed to be held over five days annually, on the lines of the Kochi Biennale.
Music composer Bijibal, Shahabaz Aman, film director Aashiq Abu, actor Rima Kallingal, writer Syam Pushkaran, and singer Sithara are some of its core members.
