UDF government had appointed 4000 conductors on daily wages through the direct recruitment process in KSRTC and the High Court ordered to terminate them from the service.
According to the court order, KSRTC can replace them from the PSC list, who already eligible to get the permanent posting. Also, the replacement will be the availability of the job openings for conductor post at KSRTC.
According to the affidavit produced by the KSRTC management 4275 empanelled conductors are in the list. Few of them have over10 years of service and all of them were made their positions safe. Corporation had made 275 empanelled conductors permanent by this period of time. The HC order will affect badly on 4000 empanelled staff.
Court agreed with the claim submitted by the PSC rank holders who are waiting to get the job in KSRTC. The PSC rank list holder claims the empanelled staffs are blocking their chance to get the job and they are robbing it with the support of the union.
KSRTC was kept the 4000 empanelled conductors for emergency service and to cover the shortage of conductors. Most of the daily-wagers had get-in with the recommendation of political leaders and they stick with the board without the existence of any conductor vacancy.
The division bench issued the order on an appeal filed by candidates who are suggested by the PSC for the posts of reserve conductors. They challenged the single-bench order that persons enclosed within the PSC rank-list had no legal right to seek appointment against vacancies that were non-existent.
The notification for reserve conductor vacancies within the KSRTC was issued by the PSC in 2010. a bunch of candidates afterward approached the court complaining that through advice memos were issued to them, the process of appointment was delayed. when the petition was dismissed by the single bench, a batch of candidates filed an attractiveness seeking to quash the order.
