Delhi Police Crime Branch on Sunday detained Chandigarh based Sukhdev Singh, an accused at the Republic Day violence at the National Capital during Delhi protectors’ tractor rally. According to Police, Sukhdev Singh was directing the telescope in the Red Fort on January 26 and also his part in the violence had proven to be somewhat active. Notably, the authorities had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 to natives who may show his whereabouts.
On Republic Day, protestors failed to stick to the prearranged path. They broke barricades to go into Delhi, attacking Police and vandalised private and public property in many federal capital areas during the protector’s tractor rally. Besides, they entered the Red Fort and unfurled the Khalistan flag out of its ramparts.
The Delhi Police had allowed farmers to take the tractor out a rally on three paths emanating from the Singhu boundary, the Tikri boundary, and the Ghazipur border covering 62 km, 60 kilometres, and 46 km respectively.
Additionally, the Police cautioned a max of 5000 men with 5000 tractors could take part in the Republic Day rally from noon to five pm. On the other hand, the rally took a violent turn following farmers’ bankrupt police barricades in the Delhi border to go into the federal funding before the allocated period.
According to video footage, a few of the protesters vandalised that a DTC bus drove tractors to intentionally run across the police employees at ITO in central Delhi. In a transparent breach of the conditions laid down by law enforcement, farmers were spotted carrying sticks and riding horses. Then, the anti-farm legislation protesters entered the Red Fort’s assumptions and unfurled their particular flags from the ramparts.
While 394 police employees are hurt in the violence, the Delhi Police has filed 25 FIRs from the protesters.
