BJP M.P Meenakshi Lekhi is made the day of all Ayyappa devotees today. She had given a fitting replay to the CPIM MP Karunakaran in Loksabha.
KC Venugopal a Congress MP initiated to issue an ordinance to save customs and traditions of Sabarimala. Since last two days, all over Kerala become worse situation raised after two women activities entered the shrine. One murder and two suicide had happened still based on the issue in Kerala.
MP Venugopal raised the issue to bring an ordinance and CPIM MP Karunakaran just opposed and claimed the women’s wall in Kerala was related to Sabarimala and all participated women demands young women entry in Sabarimala. But the women wall was a government-organized program for renaissance and most of the participant was government employees and school-college students.
BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi had given a perfect speech for the importance of 41 days fasting for Sabarimala devotees and explained the difference between Sabarimala temple and other Ayyappa temples. The fitting replay made shut Karunakaran MP.
Her speech in the Loksabha:
“This conversation and narrative are coming from people who do not understand Hinduism. The Goddess is worshipped in the menstruating form in Hinduism. We have space for everything and one such temple like Sabarimala has its own ritualistic system. We agree to the extent that rituals of a particular set need to be kept in that form but I feel a certain kind f narrative is set in this country where men are made to feel small and anti-feminist if they pass any order which is logically correct.
Though religion cannot be seen from any angle. Can SC decide how the birth of Jesus happened?
One Ayyappa devotee has died because of stone pelting by CPIM party workers. State Government is responsible for that. You are actually doing things to provoke a community, you are provoking people. This is not a question of civil right.
If a friend of mine is fasting in Ramadan, will I go to his residence and disturb him and ask for a cup of coffee? This ritual is about spiritually training men. Can the court decide that the period of fast be reduced to 28 days?”
