The dreaded king of America had no mercy, even for his own servants. Those who dared to disagree with him faced dire consequences, and the punishment involving ten wild dogs was a fate worse than death for many unlucky subjects. Notorious among them was one servant whose opinion encountered fierce opposition from their ruler, leaving only the option of becoming food for those angry canine guards!
After a decade of loyal service, the servant requested that the king show mercy and give him ten days to prepare for his cruel fate. Moved by this plea, the King granted his wish.
In the span of ten days, a servant took it upon himself to provide devoted care for a pack of dogs. To the surprise and delight of their guard, he unyieldingly served them with love by supplying food delicacies they could enjoy, scrubbing away dirt and grime from fur coats glistering in sunlight, as well as offering plenty more tender loving comfort to keep each pup content.
After ten days of suspenseful countdown, the King issued his stern judgment: execution for the servant. But to all our surprise and delight, when he was thrown in front of a pack of snarling dogs, they merely licked his feet!
The king, baffled at what he was seeing, said,
”What has happened to my dogs?”
After faithfully tending to his duties for a full decade, the servant was appalled and hurt when, upon making one tiny misstep, their master neglected all of the years they served together. Yet in stark contrast, after just ten days serving underdogs, not even this brief stint had been forgotten by them. After reflecting on his misjudgment, the King righted a wrong by emancipating the servant.
